Terms of Service
Last updated June 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Preflight (the “Service”), an application that benchmarks bug-bounty automation. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Preflight provisions isolated, deliberately-vulnerable practice targets scoped to your individual run, lets you point your own agent or script at them, and returns a deterministic “bounty-readiness” verdict and capability scorecard graded against hidden ground truth. The grading engine is deterministic and does not use a large language model. The Service is provided for benchmarking and educational purposes.
2. Accounts
You need an account (email and password) to use most features. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information, keep one account per person unless we agree otherwise, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable use and testing scope
The Service exists to test the isolated targets we assign to your run. You agree that you will not:
- test, attack, scan, or attempt to access any system other than the target explicitly assigned to your run — including the Preflight platform itself, other users, or any third party;
- upload or deploy real malware, ransomware, reverse shells, or similar payloads;
- run denial-of-service, resource-exhaustion, or brute-force activity beyond what a scenario invites;
- attempt to break out of, persist in, or tamper with the sandbox isolating your run;
- circumvent rate limits, scan quotas, scope guardrails, or other technical controls.
Targets are sandboxed and ephemeral (each run’s target expires automatically). Out-of-scope actions may void your run and can result in suspension. You are solely responsible for the agents, scripts, and tooling you point at the Service and for complying with all applicable laws.
4. Plans and fair use
The free plan includes a limited number of scans per week. We may apply rate limits and quotas to keep the Service available for everyone. Automated scraping of the platform, sharing accounts, or evading usage limits is not permitted. Paid plans, if offered, are described at the point of purchase.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the reports, request logs, and other material you submit (“Your Content”). You grant Preflight a limited license to store and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service, including grading it against ground truth. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its scenarios, grading logic, ground truth, and interface, is owned by Preflight and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy, resell, or create derivative works from the Service.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. A readiness verdict is a deterministic assessment against our scenarios and is not a guarantee that any real-world bug-bounty program will accept, reward, or value a report, nor a substitute for your own professional judgment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Preflight will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the platform. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Preflight is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
